Race and Rhythm is a Contemporary Dance and Performing Arts Company based in London.
Spanish founder and Choreographer, Miriam Faura, has lived in several different countries including the UK as well as spending long periods in Argentina, India and has traveled and performed around the world. Her work is influenced by her exposure to many cultures and dance styles like Flamenco, Argentinean Tango and Street/Hip Hop. These influences are brought together in a contemporary dance style that is both unique and distinctive.
The company often incorporates media, original recorded and live music as well as set and costume design. Its aim is to create a cultural link (or a link between cultures) through The Performing Arts and to make Contemporary Dance more accessible to all kinds of audiences.
By incorporating a new movement vocabulary based on popular, traditional, historical, artistic dance styles or just everyday life themes, Race and Rhythm is working towards the delivery of a clear message the audience can identify and interact with.
